Some links to IFRA activities in Kuwait


KUWAIT INDIAN FOOTBALL FEDERATION (KIFF) COMMENCES NEW SEASON

Kuwait Indian Football Federation – Kuwait (KIFF) is all set to get the ball rolling for season 2008-09 on 7th November 2008 at the Salmiya Baladiya Football Stadium in Salmiya, Kuwait. This year being the 25th year of the Federation's existence, the famous KIFF league for the J.P. D'Mello Memorial Trophy will be opened with a unique opening ceremony on the inaugural day of the league.

In spite of all odds and speculations the dynamic members of the KIFF Managing Committee for 2008-09 were instrumental in reallocating the games on a green pitch very much to the demand and appreciation of the football loving fans thus fulfilling the long cherished dream of every player to showcase their talent. The committed senior and founder members of the Federation supported strongly in unison to make this dream a reality.

This year the Federation boasts of 18 competitive teams which will play the full league divided in two groups with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the semifinals.

The KIFF Managing Committee fpr the 2008-09 season comprises of:
President - B.M Viegas (UGC), Vice-President Xavier Furtado (AVC-Kuwait),
General Secretary - Fidelis Fernandes (Kuwait Goan Association),
Sports Secretary - Derrick Gomindes (Rising Stars),
Treasurer – Shyam Kumar (Kerala Challengers),
Registrar – Michael Fernandes (GOA),
Asst. Sports Secretary – P.A Tony (Fahaheel Bros),
P.R.O. Jack Fernandes (Curtorcares United) and
Executive Member Bernard Fernandes (Navelim Youth Centre)

The KIFF Managing Committee has decided to start the games at 7.00 am sharp without any minute delay very much in line with the international laws some of which are applicable in this season and all affiliates are made aware of this in agreement with the Federation. All the Presidents of the clubs/associations/teams are officially invited to participate in this opening event and provide added boost to the KIFF Managing Committee.

It may be noted that Kuwait Indian Football Federation – Kuwait is the one and only Indian federation in the whole of Gulf region which has annual affiliate registration of the players and conduct the games in line with FIFA guidelines in addition to its own enacted laws as per its constitution. It is registered with Indian Embassy in Kuwait.

The games scheduled on the first day (7th November 2008) are
Navelim Youth Centre v/s Don Bosco at 7:00 am
and
CRC Chinchinim v/s Santos United at 8:30 am.

The matches will be officiated by INDIAN FOOTBALL REFEREES' ASSOCIATION (IFRA).
